Summer Is Here

Summer has officially arrived and with it has come the hot dry weather. Here in the Southeast we have not had significant rain to help relieve us from this brutal heat. Multiple problems will start arriving that you need to be mindful of. Checking your ventilation equipment should be top on your priority list. You will want to make sure all fans are working properly, thermostats are calibrated, and cool cell pads are clean. Cool Cells can quickly become dirty or clogged especially if not properly maintained. If you are running well water over your pads be careful too, as the summer continues and rainfall stays away, wells will get lower and this could mean more minerals(clay, calcium, iron, etc) in your water. Constantly be checking your water quality and make sure to keep a good cleaner circulating onto your pads. PronTech Poultry is perfect for this application. 1 jar per house to start off with and then just 4-5 scoops once a week to help prevent algae growth and to help keep your pads nice and clean. If you have any questions please email us at info@upitrading.com.

Environmental Control

When asked recently what is an area of broiler production that I believe is overlooked the most that can easily be improved, I thought for a second and responded with Water Line Sanitation. Water line sanitation is not difficult but often times overlooked or not done at all because trying to clean your water lines often creates new problems that many growers do not want to risk. The problem is in the water line cleaners they have been using. You see these water line cleaners are usually made up of Hydrogen Peroxide. Hydrogen Peroxide is a dangerous chemical to handle. In high concentrations it is flammable, it can cause burns on your skin, and and can cause all kinds of problems to the actual water line system. When pumped in with a medicator, hydrogen peroxide with corrode the diaphragm inside the medicator pump reducing its effectiveness. Then if left inside the water lines for too long of a period the hydrogen peroxide will begin to damage the pipes, the watering pins, and any rubber gaskets it comes into contact with. This all happens because hydrogen peroxide is an extremely strong oxidizer. It burns it way through anything it comes in contact with. Manufacturers would have you believe that it does not damage your equipment just the bio-film and bacteria within your system, but common sense tells you that this is just not true. These issues are why no one wants to clean their systems out. However with PronTech you no longer have to worry about these dangerous issues. PronTech is not an oxidizer. PronTech chemically bonds with the bio-film to remove the build up. It penetrates crevices to neutralize pathogens that live within the watering system to help give your livestock clean water to consume. For more information on how to properly use PronTech to sanitize your watering system please contact me at bwilson@upitrading.com. I will help to answer any of your questions and hopefully help you increase your production numbers by helping you to improve your water quality.

BioSecurity: Cleaning and Disinfecting

To properly disinfect a surface it must be cleaned first.  A dirty surface cannot be disinfected.  That is why we have developed CleanTech.  It is a non-ionic cleaner that helps to remove dirt, buildup, biofilm, and other debris from surfaces.  CleanTech is specifically designed to work in connection with PronTech.  Using the two products together you can be sure that your facility, whether it is a hatchery, processing plant, or poultry house is cleaned and disinfected.  For more information contact us at info@upitrading.com or contact me at bwilson@upitrading.com.

Poultry Industry Is Changing

As the Poultry Industry changes so must be the way those within the industry view certain practices. One of those is the use of antibiotics.  With the reductions in the use of antibiotics, individuals within the industry must be much more aware of the environment that birds are exposed to.  Hatcheries need to be more sanitary, as well as farms, and drinker lines.

PronTech can help protect your flock and your investment while being safe to your employees and friendly to the environment.  Contact me at bwilson@upitrading.com for more information.

Washing Fertilized Eggs

Washing fertilized eggs has been a no no within the poultry industry for years. Common thought within the industry was that exposing an egg to water could contaminate the egg. Not only was this a concern so was the thought that if you used the wrong product to wash the egg you could clog the pores of the egg. Eggs need to breath and preventing this could cause damage to the embryo. With PronTech you no longer have to fear either of these scenarios. PronTech cleans and sanitizes the egg shell while not leaving behind any build up or thick film. Clean eggs mean a clean hatchery. That means you have less egg explosions in your setters, you have less disease outbreaks due to contamination from the farm, and more of your fertile eggs get to be placed in your setters. Using PronTech to treat your eggs is a your smart and safe choice.

Fogging

Fogging is an excellent way to control the bacteria count in a room.  Hatcheries use fogging as part of their daily sanitation, but fogging is not just for hatchery use.  Fogging is a great way to disinfect rooms, barns, or just about any enclosed environment.  With PronTech you can feel safe and secure when using it as a fogging agent.  Because PronTech reduces the surface tension of the water when added to it helps it to be an excellent fogging agent.  PronTech will hold in the air longer because it is a smaller molecule.  This lets it penetrate microscopic areas as well as travel through the whole room before falling to the ground.  PronTech has been proven to remain in suspension longer than most other brands without the need to add a fogging agent.  Also, PronTech is not an oxidizer, therefore it will not be harmful or corrosive to your equipment. One other property of PronTech that makes it a better choice over many competing brands is that it does not leave behind any sticky residue.  So, the next time you need disinfect a room, house, or animal facility consider fogging and consider using PronTech.

Ground Beef Recall

E. Coli is bacteria that all meat industries fight against.  To prevent recalls companies must make sure they use the best practices to prevent contamination.  PronTech at 200 ppm is effective against E. Coli and is able to be used at this concentration on food contact surfaces.  For more information about the recall follow the link below.
